Books-A-Million Celebrates Grand Opening in Aiken, SC

AIKEN, S.C.-(Business Wire)-September 4, 2008 - Books-A-Million, Inc. (NASDAQ:BAMM) will celebrate the grand opening of its 14,200-square-foot store at 2441 Whiskey Road, September 5-6, with community and children’s activities.

The grand opening celebration will begin Friday, September 5, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the store’s staff at 9 a.m. Activities include story time at 10 a.m. with Curious George, author Steve Brown signing at 11 a.m., Go Team! authors Delia Corrigan and Elizabeth Tighe signing at 2:00 p.m. and many more family events throughout the day.

The celebration continues on Saturday, September 6, at 11 a.m. with story times, author Jade Lee signing Dragon Earl at 1 p.m., and author Anita Rich signing Portraits of NASCAR at 3 p.m. The Schofield Middle School String Orchestra plays in the afternoon.

Aiken residents who are new Books-A-Million patrons are encouraged to sign up for the Millionaire’s Club, where members save 40 percent off bestsellers, 20 percent off hundreds of items throughout the store and 10 percent off everything, everyday. The bookseller also offers discount programs for teachers and community organizations.
