ICx Technologies Transportation Division Awarded a $4.25 Million Contract with Hawaii Department of Transportation for Multi-Year, System Manager Services

WASHINGTON-(Business Wire)-September 4, 2008 - ICx Technologies (Nasdaq GS:ICXT), a technology and sensor company focused on the detection, security, and transportation markets, announced today that its Transportation business unit has been awarded a $4.25 million, task-order-based contract to provide system manager services to the Oahu District of the Hawaii Department of Transportation.

ICx Transportation will assist HDOT in all aspects of its Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) deployment. Services will include ITS planning, support for implementation, and system integration. The initial focus of HDOT’s ITS program includes traveler information, transportation management, emergency management and management support of the recently awarded Freeway Service Patrol Program. HDOT will employ a range of technologies to meet its program needs, including field detection, state-of-art public information dissemination and transportation-management systems.

This win follows a $15.6 million contract ICx Transportation was awarded in June to manage the technology portion of a multi-million-dollar “Bus Rapid Transit†transportation upgrade project administered by the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) in California.

“We are pleased to see continuing momentum in this important growth market,†said Hans Kobler, president and CEO of ICx Technologies. “This marks our second large win, and provides great confirmation of our team’s capabilities.â€

Work on the program began in July 2008 and is expected to continue through 2012.
