Philip A. Theodore Joins BioReliance Corporation as Vice President, Compliance, Legal and Corporate Development

ROCKVILLE, Md.-(Business Wire)-September 4, 2008 - BioReliance Corporation announced today that Philip A. Theodore has been named Vice President, Compliance, Legal and Corporate Development. BioReliance Corporation is a leading contract services company that provides biologics safety testing, toxicology, viral manufacturing and laboratory animal diagnostic services to the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries worldwide.

Mr. Theodore will be responsible for several core areas including all legal activities within the company, corporate compliance functions, and corporate development focused on opportunities to enhance business and growth through external collaboration and acquisitions. Based in the company’s headquarters in Rockville, MD, he will report to David A. Dodd, President, CEO and Board Chairman, BioReliance Corporation and will serve on the company’s Operating Committee.

Mr. Theodore’s career spans more than 30 years in the legal representation of public and private companies, corporate governance and compliance, and mergers and acquisitions, as a partner with King & Spalding, LLP, an international law firm, where he was a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions practice group, and as the general counsel of several public companies. He also served as Vice President and General Counsel of Serologicals Corporation from 2004 until the company was sold in 2006.

Mr. Theodore earned his undergraduate degree, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and received his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the University of Cincinnati Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif.
