Women's Energy Network of Houston to Host Networking Luncheon for Northside Energy Workers September 23
HOUSTON-(Business Wire)-September 3, 2008 - The Women’s Energy Network (WEN) of Houston announced today that Cathy Nunnally, Nunnally and Company executive coach and leadership consultant, will be the featured speaker for its second Northside networking luncheon. The event will be held Tuesday, September 23, 11:30 a.m. at Anadarko Petroleum, 1201 Lake Robins Drive, in The Woodlands, Texas. Nunnally will discuss “Keeping Women on the Leadership Path.â€
The Northside event becomes the third location for the monthly luncheon series, which creates networking opportunities for women in the energy industry and features top female industry professionals as speakers. The topics discussed at the luncheons range from general business issues such as communications and leadership, to industry specific topics such as LNG, renewable energy, exploration and production trends and regulatory issues.
“As the concentration of energy sector businesses continues to grow in the Greenspoint and Woodlands areas of north Houston, we saw an opportunity to engage women working in those areas by expanding the geographic reach of our luncheon series beyond our current downtown and Energy Corridor locations,†said Elizabeth Matthews, WEN Board of Directors President and Chevron Services Company Senior Counsel.
At the luncheon, Nunnally will share insights gained through her ongoing research on women in corporate leadership positions. Her work centers on understanding obstacles facing women seeking leadership positions, providing tools to help them realize their career goals and helping companies develop the leadership potential of female employees.
