A Report on China's Motor Industry Development for 2007: Including an Analysis of Core Companies and Sub Industries

DUBLIN, Ireland-(Business Wire)-September 4, 2008 - Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/18c7b5/china_motor_indust) has announced the addition of the "China Motor Industry Development Report 2007" report to their offering.

The total amount of motor production in China from January to August in 2007 reached 5.7516 million units, up 23.57 per cent year-on-year. Sales figures reached 5.6853 million units, up 24.95 per cent annually, with the entire motor industry continuing to maintain high economic operation. It is estimated that in 2007, sales will achieve 8.7 million units, an increase of more than 20%.

Scale effects and changes in consumption trends improved the industry’s profitability. From January to July 2007, the key motor companies achieved the main business income of 566.2 billion yuan, up 27.53 per cent year-on-year. The total amount of profit was 34.5 billion yuan, an increase of 69.81 per cent annually.

As for segmented sectors: from January to August 2007, both production and sales were booming.

- Saloon car: production 4.07 million and sales 4.02 million, year-on-year growth of 21.99 per cent and 24.09 per cent respectively;

- Passenger car: production 0.1532 million and sales 0.153 million, year-on-year growth of 20.26% and 22.80%;

- Truck: production 1.0144 million and sales 1.0143 million, year-on-year growth of 20.15% and 20.23%.

- The production and sales of traditional heavy trucks were up 56.36% and 52.86%. They were the major factor for the growth in truck production and sales.
