A Study of China's Wind Power Industry and the Market for 2007: Including a Global Overview & Analysis of the Chinese Wind Power Market
DUBLIN, Ireland-(Business Wire)-September 4, 2008 - Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/e0d308/china_wind_power_i) has announced the addition of the "China Wind Power Industry Research 2007" report to their offering.
Wind power is the most mature energy resource in the renewable energy technology industry for the past 20 years, with the cost of wind power decreasing by 80 percent.
At the end of 2006, the capacity of global wind power was about 74.22 million kilowatts; with additional wind power capacity of 15 million kilowatts installed in the same year. The wind power capacity in proportion to other power resources is estimated to increase to 12% by 2020.
The total wind energy resource reserves in China are 3.226 billion kilowatts. The wind energy reserves in land total 253 million kilowatts, and offshore areas of wind energy reserves to be developed total 750 million kilowatts, a total of 1 billion kilowatts.
In 2006, the additional wind power capacity reached 1.337 million kilowatts. Domestic enterprises accounted for 41.2 percent, and foreign enterprises accounted for 55.1 percent. A joint ventures Nantong CASC Wanyuan Acciona Wind Turbine Manufacture Co. Ltd. (NCWA) accounted for 3.7 percent. The percentage of domestic enterprises has increased by 11.8 percent compared with 2005.
By 2010, the total wind power capacity will reach 5 million kilowatts. Approximately 30 100,000 kilowatt wind power plants will be built in Eastern coastal regions and in Northern regions. Meanwhile, one or two 100,000 kilowatt-class sea wind power pilot projects are expected to be completed.
