GOP & ACCCE: American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE) Available for Comment/Interviews at Republican National Convention

PAUL, Minn.-(Business Wire)-August 28, 2008 - American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity: -0- *T What: ——————————————————————————————————— The American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE) is a non- profit, non-partisan partnership of companies involved in producing electricity from coal. The coalition will make available industry experts for interviews and comments on issues related to coal-fueled electricity, including clean coal technology, energy policy and legislation, and more during the Republican National Convention Sept. 1-4. Key issues that ACCCE spokespersons can address include economic competitiveness, energy security, environmental policy issues, and how the energy debate (particularly issues involving coal) plays into the fall election campaign. *T -0- *T Spokespeople: ——————————————————————————————————— Steve Miller, President and CEO, ACCCE With more than 20 years of experience in politics, government and social policy, Mr. Miller brings a dynamic understanding of how public opinion and politics help shape public policy. He was at the forefront of creating an integrated outreach effort to increase public awareness of the crucial role electricity from coal plays in driving a robust economy and improved quality of life. Prior to leading the ACCCE organization, Mr. Miller was an attorney and served as the campaign manager for Brereton Jones's campaigns for governor and lieutenant governor in Kentucky. He also served as Lt. Governor Jones's executive officer. Joe Lucas, Vice President Communications, ACCCE Mr. Lucas began his career with the Kentucky Department of Mines and Minerals where he developed and managed the agency's outreach programs. Latter experience includes principal spokesperson for the Mine Safety and Health Administration, working for a member of Congress on a variety of energy issues including the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. In 1992, he took a position with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) where he had responsibility for managing the public affairs portfolio for DOE's energy programs and served in the Office of the Secretary. *T
