PokerTek Announces First PokerPro Installation in State of Indiana at Horseshoe Casino Chicagoland

MATTHEWS, N.C.-(Business Wire)-August 7, 2008 - PokerTek, Inc. (NASDAQ: PTEK), the industry pioneer and worldwide leader in automated poker tables and related software, is pleased to announce that it has installed PokerPro at the all-new Horseshoe Casino Chicagoland. This begins PokerTek's field trial in Indiana, and is the first automated poker installation in the state.

Horseshoe Casino reopened on July 29th after transforming its casino along Lake Michigan, more than tripling its size. "One of our primary goals for this expansion was to bring in the latest gaming technology to meet the demands of our players," said Rick Mazer, Horseshoe Casino's Indiana Regional President and General Manager. "PokerPro fits our needs perfectly, while allowing us total flexibility to adjust game offerings and tournament schedules."

Horseshoe Casino's new gaming and entertainment facility is 350,000 square-feet, with more than 108,000 square feet of gambling space. The updated property contains more than 100 table games and over 3,200 slots. It also includes three restaurants, two bars and an entertainment center, The Venue, with capacity for 3,300.
