Insyde Software Releases UEFI Firmware for New Intel(R) System-On-A-Chip
WESTBOROUGH, Mass. & TAIPEI, Taiwan-(Business Wire)-July 24, 2008 - Insyde Software, a leading provider of Universal Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) based firmware, BIOS and engineering services today announced the availability of its InsydeH2O(TM) UEFI firmware solution for the Intel(R) EP80579 Integrated Processor product line. With the release of this latest version of InsydeH2O, Insyde Software continues to add to their already broad UEFI BIOS portfolio with Intel compatibility.
The Intel(R) EP80579 Integrated Processor product line integrates several key system components into single Intel(R) Architecture-based chips. These Intel system-on-a-chip (SOCs) deliver significant improvements in power-efficient throughput performance and form factor by reducing the chip footprint size by up to 45 percent and power consumption by up to 30 percent, compared to a standard four-chip design in embedded and communications market segments.
