Thompson Hine Partner Named President of Dayton Bar Association
DAYTON, Ohio-(Business Wire)-July 3, 2008 - Christine M. Haaker, a partner in Thompson Hine's Business Litigation practice group, has been elected as the 94th president of the Dayton Bar Association (DBA). Haaker received her law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Dayton. In addition to being an active DBA member, she volunteers for the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project and is an associate board member of the Dayton Art Institute, serves on the board of trustees of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and previously served on the board of trustees for United Rehabilitation Services of Greater Dayton. Haaker was recently named a Dayton Business Journal "Forty Under 40" award winner and will be the youngest person to serve as the DBA's president. She has also been recognized as a Rising Star by Ohio Super Lawyer magazine in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
Under Haaker's leadership, the DBA will encourage its members to invest in the integrity of the profession by initiating programs that foster inclusiveness throughout the legal community. The 1,500-member Dayton Bar Association, the association for legal professionals, has been serving the greater Dayton community and legal profession since 1883.
