PurpleTalk Launches Free Advertising for iPhone Developers
SAN FRANCISCO-(Business Wire)-July 2, 2008 - With the upcoming launch of Apple AppStore, thousands of iPhone application developers are trying to find a way to publicize their applications to stand out from the crowd. PurpleTalk, Inc has just launched a unique, free reciprocal advertising service - called AdShare - which addresses many of the marketing challenges faced by developers.
PurpleTalk's AdShare service allows developers to promote each other's applications directly to iPhone users. By implementing such a cross-promotion program, all participating developers will receive increased exposure to their own specific application - thus raising awareness and leading to a higher level of downloads.
Vince Mundy, CEO for an iPhone gaming application development company named OrangeShark.com commented, "PurpleTalk's AdShare service will allow us to promote our games directly to end users. We expect that it might help us to acquire as many as two or three times more customers. The value is in differentiation and increased exposure. We are not concerned about promoting competitors because PurpleTalk's service allows me to specify which category of Apps can promote my Apps, as well as selecting only the categories of Apps I wish to promote. The value for OrangeShark.com is to be able to stand out among the more than ten thousand applications that will be in the App Store."
Every time an application that contains AdShare is launched, the iPhone user will see a brief splash-screen promotion of a different application. Each time a developer displays an ad for a separate developer, they receive credit for one advertisement of their App, which will be promoted by another developer.
Sridhar Muppidi, PurpleTalk's Founder and CEO, explains, "This service offers non-intrusive ads which do not affect the user's application experience, since our AdShare banners use only 30 % of the splash screen, while the rest promotes the application owner's brand."
The AdShare service also includes Analytics which allows developers to track the usage statistics of their applications — per session use, user location trends and detailed demographic reports, and more. This allows iPhone developers to learn precisely how their apps are being used and also improves their rate of success.
PurpleTalk will follow the launch of AdShare and Analytics with continuing enhancements to these services. PurpleTalk will aggressively market its range of services to establish itself as the premiere advertising network for iPhone developers. The company expects to see rapid growth as the value of AdShare is demonstrated.
