ALM Announces Promotions at the Daily Report

NEW YORK-(Business Wire)-July 1, 2008 - ALM, a leading media company serving legal and business professionals, today named Blair Matthews as publisher of the Daily Report in Atlanta. Matthews will report to Chris Mobley, group publisher. In addition, Ed Bean, editor in chief of the newspaper, will assume expanded responsibilities as associate publisher.

Matthews has served as controller for the Daily Report since joining ALM in 2001. In addition, his management responsibilities have included oversight of circulation marketing, manufacturing and distribution. Prior to joining ALM, he served as controller for Tecumseh Products, a large national manufacturing firm, and as accounting manager, overseeing accounting, payroll and administrative services, for the Jekyll Island Authority. He began his accounting career at a national managed health care company. Matthews received his BBA degree from Georgia Southern University.

Bean joined the Daily Report in 2000 as managing editor and was named editor in chief in 2005. His career spans 30 years in journalism, including positions as a reporter or editor at the Wall Street Journal, Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Georgia Trend magazine. He has served as editor and publisher of the former South magazine and as editorial director for Williams Communications. He is president-elect of the Atlanta Press Club, one of the nation's largest regional press organizations, and serves on the organizing committee for the Georgia Bar, Media and Judiciary conference. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
