RMI Announces Retirement of Karl Knauff
ATLANTA-(Business Wire)-June 18, 2008 - RMI, the largest independent provider of comprehensive rail information services to the transportation industry, reports that Karl Knauff has announced his intent to retire from RMI effective June 30, 2008. After more than a decade of service to RMI, Karl has decided to spend more time with his family and pursue other leisurely interests. "RMI accepts Karl's decision with mixed emotions," says Pete Kleifgen, CEO of RMI. "While we are happy for Karl that he has reached this new stage in his life, we are also saddened he will be leaving us."
Karl joined RMI in August of 1997 after a long and successful career with IBM. During the next 10 years RMI grew to one of the most successful software-as-a-service organizations in North America. RMI's revenues grew six fold during that period. "Karl's dedication and professionalism have been an important factor in achieving that growth," added Kleifgen. "We now have a great base upon which to build our future."
Knauff has been busy working on a transition plan to insure a smooth process with customers and employees and will be available to RMI after June 30 to help where needed. Kleifgen added "Karl's guidance and business insight during the transition period is needed and appreciated. It is also consistent with the contributions he has made to RMI, our employees and our customers during his career at RMI."
