ALISO VIEJO, Calif.-(Business Wire)-June 18, 2008 - PowerGUI from Quest Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: QSFT) has won the "Best of Tech-Ed 2008 IT Pro Award" for "Breakthrough Product." PowerGUI, a free graphical user interface for Windows PowerShell, has recorded more than 95,000 downloads since 2007, with almost 50,000 since February of this year.

"The buzz for PowerGUI continues to accelerate, and being named one of the best products of Tech-Ed 2008 validates the significance this one-of-a-kind product has to the IT community," said Steve Dickson, vice president and general manager, Windows management, Quest Software. "Quest has previously demonstrated its commitment to helping IT professionals benefit from the best technology in the industry for PowerShell by establishing the PowerGUI.org community in 2007, and employing two Microsoft PowerShell MVPs, Dmitry Sotnikov and Kirk Munro."

The Best of Tech-Ed 2008 Awards by Penton Media's Windows IT Pro and SQL Server Magazine recognizes companies that offer innovative products in the industry. More than 223 product nominations were received and editors chose 29 finalists in nine categories. Winners were chosen based on innovation, competitive advantage and value to customers.
