Oncor Continues Progress on Storm Restoration

DALLAS-(Business Wire)-June 18, 2008 - Less than 24 hours after heavy rains and high winds passed through Oncor's service area in North and East Texas, power has been restored to more than (90%) of customers affected. Outages in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area have been reduced to 14,000 down from the original 135,000 at the height of the storm. Oncor crews and contractors worked through the night repairing and re-energizing damaged power lines, so thousands of Metroplex and East Texas customers are no longer in the dark.

"Provided no other storms move through Oncor's service area today, we expect all outages to be restored by this evening," said Rob Trimble, Oncor President and Chief Operating Officer. "Since our crews will be working on restoration while most people are at work, we ask that all consumers turn on their front porch lights to assist our field inspectors in identifying where outages remain," added Trimble.

In addition, early morning storms disrupted power to approximately 7,000 residents in Midland and Odessa. Though it is too early tell the full extent of the number of customers without power, work crews are in the area assessing damage and working to restore power.

Oncor asks those affected by power outages to call the number on their electric bill to report the problem. If there are downed power lines in the area, Oncor warns all consumers to stay away and call 9-1-1.

At the peak of the yesterday's storms, which occurred Tuesday afternoon, approximately 145,000 customer outages were reported system-wide, with 135,000 of those concentrated in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

Oncor is a regulated electric distribution and transmission business that uses superior asset management skills to provide reliable electricity delivery to consumers. Oncor operates the largest distribution and transmission system in Texas, providing power to 3 million electric delivery points over more than 102,000 miles of distribution and 14,000 miles of transmission lines. While Oncor is a subsidiary of Energy Future Holdings, Oncor is a separate entity with a separate board that is comprised of a majority of independent directors.
