Solidcore Integrates Real-Time Change Detection and Prevention with HP Release Control and HP Universal CMDB

LAS VEGAS-(Business Wire)-June 18, 2008 - Solidcore(R) Systems, Inc., the leading provider of software to detect and prevent unwanted change, today announced integration of its S3 Control(TM) software with HP Release Control (formerly known as HP Change Control Management) and the HP Universal CMDB (Configuration Management Database). The integrations incorporate comprehensive and real-time change detection with the HP products and enable customers to prevent unwanted change that could cause compliance violations or unavailability. Solidcore also joined the HP Marketplace Referral Program, which will strengthen its collaboration with HP.

Solidcore S3 Control integrates with HP Release Control to provide real-time change information for more accurate decision-making about change risk and impact. S3 Control also helps customers enforce the "change calendar" defined in HP Release Control by selectively blocking unauthorized changes. Many customers also deploy HP Release Control with the HP Universal CMDB, a configuration management database that captures and stores business service definitions comprising physical, virtual and logical IT elements and their relationships. Solidcore S3 Control now provides a federation adaptor that enables HP Universal CMDB to obtain relevant, real-time change information on demand from S3 Control. This federated change data can be leveraged by any product integrated to the HP Universal CMDB; for example, HP Release Control uses federated change data to automate impact analysis and identify unauthorized or latent changes to make better approval decisions during the change process and enforce compliance.

"Improving IT compliance, security and availability requires real-time, comprehensive knowledge about what's changing across the infrastructure, whether it occurs through pre-established processes or not," said Anne Bonaparte, president and CEO of Solidcore. "Solidcore's integration with HP Release Control and HP Universal CMDB turns the guessing game about what's actually changing across your environment into a trusted system of record and control. Our product integration and participation in the HP Marketplace Referral Program will help more customers quickly realize these new benefits."

In addition to integrating with HP Release Control and HP Universal CMDB products, Solidcore also provides integrations with several other key components of the HP Business Technology Optimization portfolio. These include HP Service Manager, HP Server Automation software and HP Network Automation software. Solidcore enhances the capabilities of these products by capturing critical change information in real time, reconciling change activity against approved change tickets and automatically preventing unauthorized changes to the infrastructure. Using Solidcore, customers can enforce the HP Business Service Automation (BSA) solutions as authorized "agents of change," allowing only HP BSA-related changes to occur and helping ensure all change flows through the approved process.

"Customers can decrease costs while minimizing the risk of downtime with HP," said Mahesh Kumar, director of marketing, Business Technology Optimization products, software, HP. "The integration of Solidcore capabilities for verifying approved IT change and blocking unapproved changes will help customers achieve new levels of IT compliance, control and service availability."

The Solidcore S3 Control software greatly reduces the cost and effort needed to improve IT service availability and regulatory compliance. Solidcore captures "who" is making changes, "what" is actually being changed, "when" change is occurring, "how" the change was implemented, and "why" the change was made. This enables organizations to ensure deployed systems are always in a known and verified state. Solidcore can highlight differences in changes deployed in staging and production environments, and create an exception report that lists any extra and missing changes. Solidcore S3 Control can also summarize all change events in reports to demonstrate compliance to auditors with minimal effort, reducing the cost of Payment Card Industry (PCI) or Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance verification.
