Jawbone & Veuve Clicquot present the CULTURE CATCH MONTHLY HD 5.1 MUSIC SALON with MS. VANESSA CARLTON -- an evening of champagne, food, music and conversation
NEW YORK-(Business Wire)-June 17, 2008 - This Salon, facilitated by CC host Dusty Wright, is about the exchange of smart conversation, with invitees being those who can engage and participate in an intellectual dialogue. We look to discuss the impact of music and its significance in our society and how it is affected by changing technology and social happenings. A singer/songwriter finds their clarity of expression through music; a Jawbone's modern design and technology reminds us of the importance of having one's voice heard; Veuve Clicquot is proof that a brand can survive social and cultural change. Join us in the exchange of ideas, parallels, and conversation in a style only a Jawbone can provide.
The evening will take place on TUESDAY, JUNE 17th, from 7 - 10 PM, at 725 Washington Street (Bank & 11th), with the NYC-based singer/songwriter MS. VANESSA CARLTON. Ms. Carlton is getting ready to launch her latest tour in support of her critically acclaimed CD Heroes & Thieves (The Inc./Universal).
USA Today's Ken Barnes noted in his review of Heroes and Thieves, "She has one of the strongest melodic gifts among today's flood of singer/songwriters, and this album is full of memorable songs." Billboard Magazine said in their recent review of Ms. Carlton's current single, "'Hands on Me' maintains the singer/songwriter's intellectual bent. The chorus gallops alongside plentiful piano strings, percussion and one hook after another, while the lyric taps into earnest desire."
The evening will start with drinks and light food, followed by a 15-minute introduction/interview by Dusty Wright, a private set of music by the artist, and an audience Q&A afterwards.
This event will be taped for a future HD 5.1 Culture Catch video podcast (the very first surround sound podcast).
