Acting Legend Celebrates Life with 5-Year Cancer Survivors in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA-(Business Wire)-June 17, 2008 - On Friday, June 20, more than 300 cancer survivors, current patients and loved ones will gather for "Celebrate Life," an annual event that commemorates the five-year anniversaries of cancer survivors who treated at Cancer Treatment Centers of America(R). Acting legend and breast cancer survivor Richard Roundtree, best known for his role as the original Shaft and most recently as Speed's hero in Speed Racer, will share his personal battle with breast cancer as part of this celebratory event.

Celebrate Life recognizes the courage and tenacity of Cancer Treatment Centers of America's cancer survivors and the hope that they offer to current patients. In addition to the celebration, survivors will be honored with a private tree-planting ceremony in nearby Ferko Park in Fairmount Park. One tree is planted for each five-year survivor who completes treatment at Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Additionally, each survivor's name is inscribed on the bronze 'Tree of Life' in the hospital's lobby. The Tree of Life symbolizes each celebrant's 5-year cancer survivorship. -0- *T WHO: Richard Roundtree and 5-year Cancer Survivors WHAT: Celebrate Life: Cancer Treatment Centers of America's annual celebration for 5-Year Survivors WHEN: Friday, June 20, 2008 9:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. — Tree planting begins at 9:45 a.m. — One-on-one interviews with Roundtree from 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. — Ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. WHERE: Cancer Treatment Centers of America(R) Front Parking Lot 1331 East Wyoming Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19124 *T
