Latin American Environmental Industry Gains Momentum with Increasing Opportunities
PALO ALTO, Calif.-(Business Wire)-May 20, 2008 - The Economic Research and Analytics Division at Frost & Sullivan is pleased to announce its 2008 Quarterly Analyst Briefing Presentation on the Latin American environmental Industry to be held on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. PDT.
Foreign companies jockey for a strong position in the Latin American environmental industry. These foreign companies combine with domestic companies and capitalize on local opportunities to make their presence felt in the market. Currently, foreign companies register local subsidiaries, establish facilities, enter joint ventures, or license contracts with domestic participants to penetrate the market.
Governments in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Chile propose to upgrade and modernize their aging pollution control infrastructure. Local governments look for companies that provide environment equipment and services, particularly for water and wastewater treatment infrastructure. Active trade and a host of investment incentives in these countries increase foreign participation in the industry. These factors provide huge investment opportunities for foreign and domestic industry participants.
This briefing will benefit environment equipment manufacturers and distributors, particularly in the air pollution control, solid waste treatment equipment and water, wastewater treatment equipment sub-segment, and companies that offer environmental services. The presentation will discuss emerging trends and provide information and forward projections for the Latin American environmental industry. Highlights of the briefing include an economic analysis of the region, political and policy support, infrastructural analysis and growth opportunities for industry participants.
"The Latin American environmental industry is an emerging market on a high growth path," observes Senior Research Analyst Archana Amarnath. "Investment in pollution abatement, emission control, waste management and water treatment are expected to escalate in the next few years. Countries in this region possess attractive investment opportunities, particularly in the modernization of pollution control infrastructure."
