Fox Soccer Channel Renews Broadcasting Rights Agreement with England's Football Association

LOS ANGELES-(Business Wire)-May 20, 2008 - Fox Soccer Channel today announced a four-year renewal of its broadcasting rights to televise programming from The Football Association (FA), England's governing body for soccer.

Under the new agreement, which runs from the 2008/09 through 2011/12 seasons, Fox Soccer Channel will continue to bring U.S. soccer fans live and exclusive match telecasts from the FA Cup, the world's oldest knockout club competition. FA Cup coverage will conclude with a first-ever live broadcast on FSC of The FA Cup Final, played each year in May at Wembley Stadium.

Fox Soccer Channel also retains rights to the FA Community Shield, an annual match between the reigning FA Cup champions and The Barclays Premier League title holder that kicks off the English soccer season every August. In addition, the agreement includes a selection of live and exclusive home matches involving the English Senior and Under-21 National Teams, encompassing coverage of England's 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying contests as well as international home friendly matches.

The broadcast package also grants Fox Soccer Channel new media rights to its full-game package, plus shared rights to video clips of all England and FA Cup matches across television, internet/broadband and mobile media platforms via a content sharing agreement with Setanta Sports North America.

In addition to live matches, Fox Soccer Channel will have rights to ancillary FA programming, including preview and review shows, archive matches and magazine programs. Setanta Sports North America will also televise select FA programming as part of a rights-sharing agreement with Fox Soccer Channel.

"We are delighted to extend our partnership with The FA for another four seasons," said David Sternberg, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Fox Soccer Channel. "This new agreement will bring more of England's tradition-rich soccer action to our viewers than ever before, on three distinct media platforms - television, Internet and mobile devices."
