15th Annual West Coast Casualty Construction Defect Seminar to Highlight ``Conflicts of Interest'' & ``Recent Court Decisions''

LOS ANGELES-(Business Wire)-May 6, 2008 - Los Angeles-based law firm Chapman, Glucksman, Dean, Roeb & Barger announced today that two of its accomplished attorneys, partner Thomas Halliwell and associate Dan Cribbs, will serve as invited speakers at this year's milestone 15th Annual West Coast Casualty's Construction Defect Seminar, the largest event of its kind worldwide focusing on "all of the elements of the prosecution, defense, coverage and technologies of construction defect claims and litigation."

The two presentations will provide attendees with insight on the increasing number of construction defect claims, as well as an understanding of recent court decisions within the industry and conflicts of interest which commonly arise. Currently, the California building industry generates tens of billions of dollars a year, and employs upward of half a million state residents. The volume of sites and projects opens builders up to construction defect claims - a primary focus for the seminar, which aims to address the proliferation of claims throughout California and the rest of the country.

Halliwell will speak about "Recent Court Decisions which Impact both the Coverage and the Defense of Construction Defect Claims" on Thursday, May 8. The session will review recent cases and legislation that impact California construction defect litigation. Halliwell specializes in complex multi-party construction defect litigation, environmental and toxic torts, business litigation, and general negligence. He has tried several cases to final verdict and has substantial arbitration and mediation experience.

Cribbs' presentation will focus on "Conflicts of Interest in Construction Defect Cases," on Wednesday, May 7. His experience extends to representation of developers and general contractors in complex multi-party construction defect actions and general civil litigation. He has represented clients on both the plaintiff and defense side of the bar, and has also written a number of articles on topics ranging from expert witnesses, scaffolding issues and the ethical prosecution of claims on behalf of clients. He has also prosecuted cases on behalf of victims of aircraft accidents and in mass tort litigation.

West Coast Casualty's 15th Annual Construction Defect Seminar will feature peer-to-peer information exchange sessions and panel discussions, in addition to Halliwell and Cribbs' presentations, and will be held at the Disneyland Hotel on 1150 West Magic Way in Anaheim. Registration is $449/per person and must be completed by May 2. For additional information visit www.WestCoastCasualty.com.
