Where 2 Get It Geocoding Enables ``MyDash'' Mapping
ANAHEIM, Calif.-(Business Wire)-May 6, 2008 - When Dash Navigation sought out best in class technologies to integrate into its recently launched Dash Express(TM), it turned to location-based search technology leader Where 2 Get It. Dash Express is the first Internet-connected GPS device. Where 2 Get It's geocoding technology provides the functionality for one of the device's most consumer-friendly features, mapping from a computer to the in-car device through the companion MyDash website.
"Dash has a well-deserved reputation for delivering innovative services that don't sacrifice on customer value and quality, and we are pleased that such a recognized leader has adopted our location-based technology to further extend the usability of the Dash Express," said Manish Patel, founder and CEO, Where 2 Get It.
Through the MyDash website a user can send address information from the computer to the device, using popular `Send2Car(TM),' `My List' and `Saved Search' commands. Using the Send2Car feature, users can send any address from the Web or e-mail directly to their device in seconds. After an address is highlighted on the search map, Where 2 Get It verifies the address, puts an electronic pushpin graphic on the map, and sends it to the in-car Dash Express device, saving time and adding convenience.
"The accuracy of Where 2 Get It's data and information was key to us selecting them over other technology vendors," said Rob Currie, president and COO of Dash Navigation. "Where 2 Get It was the easiest to work with from both a development and a business standpoint."
Customers can use MyDash to find or create new search lists and categories (surf reports, for example), and send them right to the Dash Express. This feature uses Where 2 Get It to validate the precise location data.
Where 2 Get It geocoding instantly assigns latitude/longitude geographic identifiers to street addresses, enabling a device like the Dash Express to precisely pinpoint a location and directions for users. MyDash unlocks the content from the computer and brings it to customers where they need it most - on the Dash Express device. Where 2 Get It makes this seamless for the end-user.
