ATS Corporation Awarded $3.1 million U.S. Coast Guard Contract
MCLEAN, Va.-(Business Wire)-March 18, 2008 - ATS Corporation ("ATSC" or "the Company") (OTCBB:ATCT), a leading information technology company that delivers innovative technology solutions to government and commercial organizations, today announced the award of a new contract with the U.S. Coast Guard, valued up to $3.1 million for continued technical and administrative support services for the National Maritime Center's Regional Examination Centers.
The U.S. Coast Guard awarded ATSC a 10-month contract to continue providing administrative and technical review skills in support of the National Maritime Licensing and Documentation Program. This contract supports 13 of the 17 Regional Examination Centers located around the country. Potomac Management Group, a company acquired by ATSC in 2007, has been the incumbent contractor since 2004. Professional mariners are required to have official credentials while employed on or operating U.S. registered commercial vessels. Contract support is provided to assist in efficiently processing mariner applications for Merchant Mariner Documents, licenses, Certificates of Registry, and Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping endorsements. This award is one of several contracts for ATSC related to the National Maritime Licensing and Documentation Program at the U.S. Coast Guard National Maritime Center's Martinsburg, West Virginia location.
