Textron Names Dr. Fu Yuning to International Advisory Council

PROVIDENCE, R.I.-(Business Wire)-March 18, 2008 - Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) today announced that it has named Dr. Fu Yuning, director and president of China Merchants Group as the newest member of Textron's International Advisory Council (IAC). In this role, Dr. Fu will serve as an advocate to help Textron build and nurture its global presence.

Textron's IAC is a group of 11 distinguished individuals from Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America which provides advice and guidance on business, political and economic issues relevant to Textron and its global operations.

"The addition of Dr. Fu will considerably enhance our understanding of the Asian business and political environment, which is critical to Textron's continued growth and development."

Dr. Fu, 51, obtained his PhD. in Offshore Engineering from Brunel University, UK.

He successively served as deputy managing director of Shenzhen Chiwan Petroleum Supply Base Co., Ltd., chairman of Shenzhen Chiwan Wharf Holdings Ltd., president of China Nanshan Development (Group) Inc. and chairman of Union Bank of Hong Kong Limited.

Dr. Fu has been president of China Merchants Group Limited since April 2000 and concurrently serves as chairman of China Merchants Holdings (International) Company Limited. China Merchants Group Limited engages in investing and operating transportation infrastructure in mainland China and Hong Kong. This includes ports, toll roads, energy transportation and logistics, as well as financial investment and asset management, and property development and management. The company was founded in 1872 and is headquartered in Hong Kong.

Additionally, Dr. Fu serves as a director of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and director of the Hong Kong Port Development Council and Maritime Board.
