GeNOsys Inc. Successfully Updates Hospital Bedside Nitric Oxide Generator
PROVO, Utah-(Business Wire)-March 14, 2008 - GeNOsys (generated nitric oxide systems) Inc. (OTCBB: GNYS), a medical research and development company specializing in pharmaceutical, biotechnical and medical gas generating systems, announces the Company has successfully updated its hospital bedside Nitric Oxide (NO) generator and proprietary tablet. Once the Company's flagship device receives its 510(K) approval, device sales to hospitals and laboratories are expected to reduce the patient cost as compared with existing cylinder delivered NO gas. The changes allow for improved NO production and regulation, which could result in increased standard of patent care. The reduced costs are expected to increase the use of NO substantially as well as provide for cost effective anti-viral and anti-bacterial treatments.
Mr. Clark Mower, GeNOsys' Director, stated, "The ability to generate Nitric Oxide locally at a patient's bedside (at the point of delivery) at a small percentage of the existing cost of cylinder delivered NO gas, is tremendous. The use of Nitric Oxide is currently FDA approved, however the cost to patients and hospitals is far too expensive. With our ability to produce NO inexpensively, management feels strongly that physicians will use NO in place of other treatments such as currently over-used antibiotics. The overuse of antibiotics has become problematic as bacterial causing infections are able to mutate, thus requiring stronger and stronger antibiotics. The use of NO as a bacterial fighting agent has the potential to eliminate or reduce this problem significantly."
