Telos Lands Task Order for Enterprise-Wide Messaging at USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility
ASHBURN, Va.-(Business Wire)-March 13, 2008 - The Air Force has awarded Telos Corporation a task order to set up an enterprise-wide organizational messaging capability that will provide communications support for the United States Central Command area of responsibility.
Xacta Automated Message Handling System (AMHS) is a Web-based messaging system that is currently deployed by all of the military services. Under the task order, using the NETCENTS contract vehicle, Telos is providing an AMHS hardware suite and Joint Service software licensing to USCENTCOM which permits all users within the command's area of responsibility to connect and receive messaging support.
The order includes the hardware, software licenses, site surveys and designs, and installation of AMHS. The site survey and design work is already being performed under the current order and a follow-on contract may be awarded in the spring.

AMHS simplifies the process of sending and receiving official communications to send messages over the DoD network. AMHS is the next generation of the Defense Message System (DMS) providing a Web-based solution that greatly simplifies configuration management, system administration and customer interface to the DoD record messaging system.
