JamBase Launches ``New Show Alert'' Emails and ``Show Finder'' Widget for Fans to Quickly and Easily Connect to Live Music Information
SAN FRANCISCO-(Business Wire)-March 11, 2008 - Every music fan wants to stay "in the know" about the artists and bands they care about. However, with the rise of new talent and festivals entering the scene, it can be challenging and time-consuming to keep up-to-date with live show announcements and artist schedules. Today JamBase (www.jambase.com), the premier website for fans of live music, makes connecting fans with their favorite music easier and more convenient with newly released features to My JamBase, the free member area of its site. Registered JamBase users are now equipped with a dynamic widget that delivers upcoming show information and new show alerts that are emailed instantly to them when a favorite artist announces a new show. With these customizable tools to better organize and share their live music experiences on the Web, fans will be sure they'll never miss a show again.
"For a music fan, there's no substitute to the bass pumping, energizing, visceral experience of a live show," said Andy Gadiel, JamBase founder. "JamBase is all about delivering to fans the best resources to help them get to the show. Think of My JamBase as your own personal concert advisor: you choose your favorite musicians, tell us your location, and we alert you through a live widget feed of the upcoming shows in your town or send you an email as soon as the show is announced."
The "Show Finder" widget and "New Show Alerts" emails are easy for My JamBase members to set up and personalize. Users identify favorite musicians they want to receive updates about by either selecting from the JamBase database representing 40,000 artists or by syncing their iTunes library into their personal account, automatically filing the names of musicians and bands they're listening to. Whenever a selected artist adds a new show in the fan's chosen location, JamBase sends an alert via email and updates the widget feed to include the new show.
The "Show Finder" widget is location-specific and conveniently travels with the fan, delivering information for the Tom Petty tour in Madison Square Garden when the fan is online in New York and at Hollywood Bowl while in Los Angeles. Individuals can display the widget on any of the major platforms including MySpace, Facebook, Netvibes, iGoogle and Typepad.
"As a website that was built for fans by fans, we're very attuned to what our community wants," said David Rosenheim, JamBase CEO. "They want to share their live music experience with friends and the community, and they want to easily and conveniently connect with live music information across all their favorite Web destinations. My JamBase delivers."
