TOPIC: This week, IDC announced it has lowered its forecast for information-technology spending for this year, according to an article by The Boston Globe. IDC predicts the global IT market will grow by 5 percent in 2008, compared to 6 percent growth last year. In December, Forrester Research Inc. predicted U.S. companies and government agencies would increase IT spending by 4.6 percent. They have since revised their forecast to an increase of just 2.8 percent for 2008.
