Integrated Technology Group Closes Fourth Quarter with 16 New Clients, a PLA Platinum Partnership and a New Product Launch: the Vista ShortSort(TM)
NORCROSS, Ga.-(Business Wire)-February 13, 2008 - Integrated Technology Group (ITG), a division of Vernon Library Supplies, Inc., introduced the Vista ShortSort(TM), signed on 16 new clients and augmented its management team in the fourth quarter of 2007. The company also signed its first school library—Red Mountain Middle School in Deming, New Mexico, and became a Platinum Partner for the 12th Public Library Association National Conference, held March 25-29 in Minneapolis. ITG will be hosting the "All Conference Reception" on Friday evening at the event.
New Product
The Vista ShortSort(TM), a small, two-bin radio frequency identification (RFID) sorting system that sits behind a book drop and automatically checks in items, is a big help for small libraries. The sorter activates RFID security and reduces the amount of special handling of materials. As a result, staff members only have to deal with exceptions. Because the ShortSort(TM) is designed to be mechanically simple and sound, with few moving parts, and small enough to fit in tight spaces, ITG is able to keep the cost of the system low enough for even small libraries to afford. The ShortSort(TM) is also compatible with library RFID systems sold by vendors other than ITG.
Hires and Promotions
— Scott Hackstadt, promoted to Chief Technology Officer - Hackstadt's extensive technical background in RFID and Standard Interchange Protocol (SIP) has helped ITG achieve the status of being one of the two biggest players in the library RFID industry. He leads all of ITG's product development efforts and continues to provide innovative and real-world solutions that make libraries' use of Apex RFID(TM), Apex XpressCheck(TM) and Vista Sorting(TM) products a boon to both staff and patrons.
— Michael Imsand, promoted to Director of Support Services - Imsand brings a world of support management background to ITG. Before moving into his new role, he served as a sales manager for ITG. In his new position, he will help ITG move to the next level of customer service and support.
— Amy Thropp, promoted to Vice President of Marketing - Prior to serving as vice president of marketing, Thropp was ITG's product manager. Amy will use her 30 years of experience in software development and product marketing to help boost ITG's brand and product recognition, and to continue to grow ITG's presence in the library automation marketplace.
