Jose Cuervo to Sponsor AVP Crocs Hot Winter Nights Indoor Beach Volleyball Tour
LOS ANGELES-(Business Wire)-February 13, 2008 - AVP, Inc. (OTCBB:AVPI), a lifestyle sports entertainment company focused on professional beach volleyball, announced its one-year deal with Jose Cuervo "Cuervo" to sponsor the new AVP Crocs Hot Winter Nights Indoor Beach Volleyball Tour. The sponsorship agreement brands Cuervo as the official spirit of the AVP Crocs Hot Winter Nights Indoor Pro Beach Volleyball Tour through the end of the season. The sponsorship is a welcome extension of Cuervo's longtime affiliation with the AVP Crocs Tour's summer tour.
"Jose Cuervo has a long, deep history as a supporter of the AVP, and we are pleased to be a part of the growth in popularity of beach volleyball through the extension of our existing sponsorship to include the new winter tour," said Greg Leonard, tequila brand manager from Diageo. "Participating in AVP's new indoor tour enables Cuervo to continue expanding awareness among the growing population of beach volleyball enthusiasts, and we look forward to being a part of the excitement."
"The extension of Cuervo's already long-term relationship with AVP validates our expansion strategy into new markets," said Leonard Armato, commissioner and CEO of the AVP. "As we continue to broaden our sport into new markets, and grow our overall Tour events, we are pleased with the support of existing sponsors we have received so far. We are also pleased that we have lined up several new sponsors for The AVP Crocs Hot Winter Nights Indoor Pro Beach Volleyball Tour, which will add 19 events to the calendar for 2008, more than doubling the number of events held in 2007."
Highlights of the deal include:
— One-year sponsor exclusivity for 2008 as the official spirits sponsor of the AVP Crocs Hot Winter Nights Indoor Beach Volleyball Tour
— Cuervo receives placements in print and radio advertising as well as in-store point-of-sale, kiosks and end caps, mobile marketing and premise support
— Rights include signage; use of marks, logos and player imagery; sponsorship of event-site bar area; Web site presence; collateral and print advertising inclusion
The indoor Tour kicked off Jan.10 and will run through Feb. 23. The AVP Crocs Hot Winter Nights Indoor Pro Beach Volleyball Tour will include 19 events across the United States and will bring the excitement and experience of an AVP beach volleyball tournament indoors for the first time.
