Medallion Cabinetry Celebrates 10 Years in West Coast Manufacturing Facility

MINNEAPOLIS-(Business Wire)-February 8, 2008 - On Monday, February 4th, Medallion Cabinetry celebrated an anniversary marking 10 strong years in the West Coast market for kitchen and bath cabinetry.

To commemorate this special event, Tim Jahnke, President and CEO of Elkay Manufacturing Company, Tom Cook, President of the Elkay Cabinet Division, Duke Piotter, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Elkay Cabinet Division and Dave Verkler, Vice President of Operational Excellence, Elkay Cabinet Division, were all on site to help celebrate the occasion.

Medallion is committed to the Western United States and it is our honor to serve our West region kitchen and bath dealerships through Medallion's continuous investment and development of our manufacturing capacity in Oregon."

Medallion purchased Westwood Products and the Salem facility February 2, 1998. With successful growth on the West Coast, by 2001 plans were made to build a new manufacturing facility in Independence, Oregon.

The Independence plant officially opened in early October 2001 and replaced the 70,000 sq. ft. plant in Salem, Oregon. This new facility allowed Medallion to significantly increase production levels with the growing business in the Western markets. This new state-of-the-art, 150,000 square foot facility improved product quality and efficiency in the manufacturing process. Today, the plant produces over 900 cabinets a day and employs over 350 employees.

"The mission for the day was to honor our employees and celebrate 10 years of great success within the Independence, Oregon facility," said Penny Alexander, Human Resources Supervisor. A luncheon was provided for all employees, along with an awards presentation recognizing the dedication and achievements of 40 employees.

The facility is located at 625 Hoffman Road, Independence, Oregon.

Medallion, which is part of the Elkay Manufacturing family of companies, offers more than 4000 combinations of door styles, wood species and color finishes in semi-custom cabinetry through kitchen and bath design centers and dealers nationwide. In addition to the Independence plant, Medallion has more than 1500 employees located at facilities in Minnesota, Indiana and Illinois. Elkay Manufacturing's cabinetry division, including Medallion, is the fourth largest cabinetry company in the U.S.
