Vulcan Increases Quarterly Dividend on Common Shares

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-(Business Wire)-February 8, 2008 - The Board of Directors of Vulcan Materials Company (NYSE:VMC) at a regular meeting held today declared a quarterly dividend of 49 cents per share on its common stock payable March 10, 2008, to shareholders of record February 25, 2008. The new quarterly dividend represents a 6.5% (3 cents per share) increase over quarterly dividends paid in 2007.
