Break.com Announces Winner of Writers' Strike Contest
LOS ANGELES-(Business Wire)-January 30, 2008 - Break.com, the leading online entertainment channel for men, has named the winner of its Writers Guild of America (WGA) online video strike contest. Bob Kushell, a WGA striking writer, was awarded $5000 for his comedic short video titled, "The Strike, Your Marriage & You." His humorous video features well-known celebrity, Christina Applegate.
Bob Kushell has written for such comedy smash hits as "The Simpsons," "Third Rock from the Sun," "Samantha Who" and "Malcolm in the Middle."
"Winning this monetary award proves the WGA's point about how much money there is to be made on the internet. Especially if you win monetary awards," said Kushell. "If you don't win monetary awards, there's probably still money to be made on the internet. But that would mean getting advertising. And that's a lot of work."
