In February Guideposts: Deborah Norville Tells Readers Her Attitude about Gratitude
NEW YORK-(Business Wire)-January 29, 2008 - The new February issue of Guideposts magazine features a cover story by anchor person and host of Inside Edition, Deborah Norville, about what keeps her anchored in the hustle-bustle world of TV news, as well as in her personal life. In her own words, she tells readers that staying on course for her simply means giving thanks and being thankful. Deborah strongly believes that people who focus on gratitude are happier, and the reporter in her searched out proof. What she found were well-conducted studies by respected psychologists that concluded better health, greater resilience, improved cognitive skills and the ability to undo stress were the real results of gratitude. Above all, Deborah urges Guideposts readers to make a daily habit of focusing on things that you are grateful for, then begin seeing and feeling the benefits.
February's Guideposts continues its uplifting new series about people who are surviving and living with cancer by talking to U.S. Paralympic skier, Josh Sundquist. Denied his boyhood dreams of playing soccer by the loss of one leg to cancer, Josh tells the inspiring story of the path that led from the operating room to competing on the slopes of Torino, Italy for the U.S. Palalympic Ski Team. Stories that round out the February issue include: how iconic singer Judy Collins found what she's searched for through 40 years of unforgettable music and personal challenges, the allure and ancient meaning of walking a labyrinth, living with the "perfect" son until he turned 13, how a concerned mom started a baby business that makes environmentalists happy, recollections of a schoolgirl's meeting with the great Dr. George Washington Carver, a top Culinary Institute-trained chef comes clean - his mother is the real kitchen genius, a fortune cookie that helped an Oklahoma man save the day, how one mother's reluctance to confront her son's drug use nearly cost him his life, flowers that hold special meanings for two different daughters, even recipes for innovative ways to serve colorful, healthful beets, and much more.
