The Hass Avocado Board Helps Fans Show Their Loyalty with New York and New England Team-Themed Guacamole Recipes

IRVINE, Calif.-(Business Wire)-January 28, 2008 - Football fans fiercely support their teams throughout the season and now with the two squads selected to play in the Big Game, fans can even show their dedication through the food they serve at Big Game Day parties. The Hass Avocado Board (HAB) has developed two team-themed guacamole recipes representative of the teams playing in the championship game: New York Kickoff Guacamole and New England Halftime Guacamole.

These recipes are sure to be a hit with fans as Big Game Day has traditionally been one of the largest consumption days of the year for Hass avocados. In fact, the HAB estimates fans will eat 49.5 million pounds of Hass avocados on this year's Big Game Day - enough to cover Arizona's University of Phoenix Stadium football field, end zone to end zone, more than 19.1 feet deep in avocados.

Fans can decide who they are rooting for and serve up their team's delicious guacamole recipe. If party guests are divided in their support, fans can serve up both recipes and see which team is more popular.
