More Than 70 New Exhibitors Join the 2009 NAB Show Floor

WASHINGTON-(Business Wire)-February 17, 2009 - More than 70 new exhibitors will showcase the latest technological innovations that help bring content to life during the 2009 NAB Show, held April 18-23 in Las Vegas. These companies will join a wide variety of NAB Show exhibiting veterans on the 850,000 square feet of space that make up the NAB Show floor.

"The NAB Show has been the leading electronic media event for more than 80 years, showcasing every stage of the content lifecycle, from creation to consumption," said NAB Executive Vice President of Conventions and Business Operations Chris Brown. "Each year we see new exhibitors from a variety of media platforms, and we look forward to learning about the unique opportunities that these new companies will bring to this year's Show."

The debuting NAB Show exhibitors include Electronic Arts, Phillips 3D Solutions and 3ality Digital, each showcasing different products in the content life cycle that help unite imagination with technology. These exhibitors join 1,600 companies, including 430 international exhibitors, that attendees will have the opportunity to view during the Show.

Also on the Show floor this year are several new attractions, including two pavilions dedicated to showcasing cutting-edge 3D technologies and the latest in mobile technology developments. The Content Commerce Pavilion, designed to facilitate business-to-business information sharing and innovation, will also debut this year. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to view a special presentation of NHK's Ultra High Definition TV technology, as well as demonstrations presented by the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology's (NICT), highlighting the latest discoveries in holographic television and 3D high definition transmission technologies.

The NAB Show has been the launch platform for hundreds of new products and thousands of product enhancements. During the 2008 NAB Show, 72 percent of exhibitors unveiled more than 1,000 new products, including the introduction of the first live transmission of stereoscopic 3D. In previous years, the NAB Show floor has also been home to the first HDTV broadcast (1996), the launch of Apple's Final Cut Studio (2005) and the debut of Red Digital's first camera in 2007.
