Broadview Networks Announces Interoperability with Cisco Smart Business Communications System
RYE BROOK, N.Y.-(Business Wire)-February 17, 2009 - Broadview Networks today announced that the Broadview Networks Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) profile has passed interoperability tests with the Cisco Smart Business Communications System and will be included in the currently available version 1.9 of the Cisco Configuration Assistant.
The Cisco Configuration Assistant allows Cisco’s Value Added Resellers (VARs) to easily configure devices and technologies including unified communications (phones and software), switching, routing, security, and wireless equipment to their specification and connect those devices to selected service provider networks using a managed SIP Trunk.
This new version of the Cisco Configuration Assistant allows the VARs to immediately set-up the Cisco Unified IP phone system to work seamlessly with the Broadview network to ensure their customer has a reliable and secure connection.

Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a signaling system used for setting up voice and video calls over the Internet. Cisco includes SIP interfaces as an option in all unified communications systems and Broadview has offered their award-winning Broadspeed SIP Trunking service for 3 years. Pairing native IP equipment with a Managed SIP Trunk Service preserves quality and reliability as the data is not converted and re-converted as it flows to its ultimate destination.
