Diversity Best Practices and Kodak CEO Antonio M. Perez to Host Board of Directors Caucus on Diversity and Inclusion
NEW YORK-(Business Wire)-February 12, 2009 - Kodak Chairman and CEO Antonio M. Perez will join Carol Evans, President, Bonnier Corp. Working Mother Group/Diversity Best Practices, to lead a first-ever Roundtable of board directors from top companies at the Board of Directors’ Caucus on Diversity and Inclusion. This groundbreaking, one-day event will take place June 17 in New York City.
Perez, the chair of the CEO Leadership Initiative of Diversity Best Practices, will host and moderate the discussion. The meeting is designed to gather insights and best practices from boards of directors and chief executives who prioritize diversity and inclusion as a fundamental business strategy.
“Through the work of Diversity Best Practices, we’ve engaged executives, employees, government leaders, and industry practitioners in a rewarding discourse on diversity and inclusion,” said Perez. “The next constituency we must engage is company directors. As board members, they chart the future of their organizations. This Roundtable caucus is our first step in bringing their perspectives to light.”
The Board of Directors’ Diversity Caucus will provide a forum for board members to share insights on the return on investment (ROI) of diversity initiatives. Only board members and their CEOs may participate. To register, executives may call Sigrid Senamaud, Assistant Vice President of Events, Diversity Best Practices, at 202-463-3768 or Sigrid.Senamaud@bonniercorp.com.
“Together, we will assess the business opportunities created by board-level engagement in diversity and inclusion,” said Evans. “By bringing these business leaders together, our objective is to learn about global implementation of diversity initiatives at leading organizations.”
“Diversity and inclusion is a business imperative in our global marketplace,” Perez said. “By examining the insights of boards of directors, and the ROI models that drive diversity initiatives, we look to define and quantify best practices that corporations can model to grow a diverse and inclusive environment.”
Following the inaugural Roundtable, plans call for the caucus to reconvene later this year to develop a set of recommendations and best practices for members to support.
