Chip Beck to Play in Allianz Golf Championship as Diatect “Green” Pesticide Endorser
HEBER CITY, Utah-(Business Wire)-February 11, 2009 - Diatect International Corporation (OTCBB:DTCT), a provider of eco-friendly insect control products under the brand Results, today announced that Professional Golfer’s Association (PGA) veteran and Ryder Cup star Chip Beck is playing in the Allianz Golf Championship in Boca Raton this week as an endorser for Diatect products. As part of the endorsement, Beck displays the Results logo on his golf clothing and tour bag.
The third annual Allianz Championship is the first in the PGA Champions Tour’s early season swing of Florida tournaments. It takes place at The Old Course at Broken Sound Club in Boca Raton from February 9 through February 15 with proceeds donated to the Boca Raton Community Hospital.
With an increased purse of $1.7 million, a line-up of golf legends and returning sponsors already committed to the event, organizers expect to attract more than 75,000 returning golf enthusiasts and first-time tournament goers. The three-round 54-hole championship is televised live each day on the Golf Channel.
Beck played in the PGA Tour from 1979 to 1999 and claimed four official victories. His accomplishments include the second “59” in PGA tour history at the Las Vegas Invitational. He scored the first “par-4 ace” in Nationwide Tour history with a 316-yard hole-in-one at Champions’ Run in the Omaha Classic 2003. He has been ranked among the top 10 players in the world, and was runner-up in the 1986 and 1989 U.S. Open Championships. Beck played on three U.S. Ryder Cup teams and became eligible for the Champions’ Tour in 2006. He remains active in the golf world as a player, spokesman and business developer.
Beck said, “Teaming up with Diatect occurs naturally for a professional golfer like me. The golf game depends on a healthy environment, and golf courses are a perfect market for Diatect’s Results products. Results kills insects on contact. The courses can be treated at any time, without causing offensive odors or inconvenience to the golfers. We feel Diatect’s eco-friendly products are extremely effective at curbing fire ant infestations that have become a major problem on golf courses, particularly in the Southeast. Moreover, Diatect’s products control most major pest problems, including bedbugs, with environmentally friendly ingredients. Going forward, the company’s target market is not only the golf course industry, but organic food growers, gardeners and a broad range of home uses.”
