Tuaca Celebrates Pop Culture Phenomenon in Body Art Ball Evolution Tour
LOUISVILLE, Ky.-(Business Wire)-February 5, 2009 - From Kabuki theater to henna tattoos, many cultures have used body art as a means of self expression throughout time. From February 8 to April 20, Tuaca Italian liqueur will bring its Body Art Ball Evolution tour to nine cities throughout the United States. An eye-catching fusion of art and performance, Tuaca Body Art Ball Evolution is a choreographed stage show featuring painted performers illustrating the transformation of the human body into a canvas.
Produced by Dallas-based Chris and Candy Productions, visual artists convert performers into living, breathing works of art for a show that dazzles the audience with a presentation to music and synchronized lights. The creators of body art are abstract, airbrush or tattoo artists who bring to life the evolution of various body art forms over time in different cultures. Performers in Tuaca Body Art Ball Evolution include familiar faces from television’s So You Think You Can Dance and America’s Got Talent as well as performance artists skilled in fabric-flying and Afro-Brazilian martial arts plus an award-winning violinist.
“We are excited to bring Tuaca Body Art Ball Evolution to nine markets for the 2009 season, and this year’s show will prove to be a high-energy spectacle,” said Josh Hayes, Tuaca brand manager. “The event showcases cutting-edge body art and represents the adventurous spirit of Tuaca.”
Adding to the excitement of Body Art Ball Evolution, Tuaca has teamed with world-renowned body painter and make-up artist Joanne Gair as a spokesperson for the tour. Ms. Gair’s well-known artwork on Demi Moore wearing nothing but a suit of body paint on the cover of Vanity Fair’s August 1992 issue earned her national recognition. Her brilliantly painted swimsuits on supermodels have also become a yearly fixture in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Tuaca has also commissioned Ms. Gair to create a special piece of body art to headline the New York City media kick-off party for Body Art Ball Evolution.
Tuaca Body Art Ball Evolution invitations must be presented at the door and are available online at www.tuacabodyartball.com. The tour will visit the following cities:
