Travelers, Insurance Office of America and National Golf Foundation Enter into Innovative New Alliance
SAINT PAUL, Minn.-(Business Wire)-February 4, 2009 - With nearly 16,000 golf courses operating in the United States at the end of 2008 according to the National Golf Foundation (NGF), all with unique and dynamic needs and challenges, Travelers (NYSE: TRV), the Insurance Office of America (IOA) and the NGF are announcing a new, first of its kind, strategic partnership at the Golf Industry Show.
Through this new alliance, IOA will now offer its golf industry customers access to a customized suite of golf industry-specific insurance products and risk management tools with Travelers Eagle 3TM, one of the longest, continuous golf-specific insurance products in the industry and endorsed by the PGA TOUR*. In addition to the property and casualty coverage, IOA’s one-stop shop will also allow customers to take advantage of its comprehensive payroll management system incorporating a full range of employee benefits products.
“We are pleased both the IOA and National Golf Foundation have chosen to partner with Travelers to better service the industry and their members,” said Vance Sawamura, president of Travelers National Programs. “Through this partnership, customers will have access to our customized suite of golf insurance products as well as complete access to our specialized risk management knowledge base.”
“Travelers has a remarkable understanding of the general liability and property losses our golf customers may face,” said John Ritenour, chairman of IOA. “Partnering with Travelers will have a direct benefit to our customers, especially as they consider enhancing their risk management and loss prevention programs.”
“This new relationship allows customers and potential customers access to golf-specific insurance coverages, and payroll and employee benefits services all through one convenient program,” said Joe Beditz, CEO of the National Golf Foundation. “It furthers the goal of the NGF to help our members succeed.”
The new marketing alliance will be led by the NGF, in close collaboration with IOA. The program, now available, is intended to meet the needs of golf facilities of all sizes as well as driving ranges and golf shops. It can also be customized to provide a variety of insurance solutions for golf management companies and organizations.
