Celebrate the Chinese New Year at The Americana at Brand with an Afternoon of Culturally-Inspired Activities

LOS ANGELES-(Business Wire)-February 3, 2009 - The Americana at Brand will host a special event on Sunday, February 8 from 3p.m. to 4p.m., free to the public, in honor of the 2009 Chinese New Year, often referred to as the Lunar New Year. The entertainment will include traditional dances that represent the heart and soul of the Asian culture such as, a Chinese Lion Dance, Chinese Ribbon Dance, Chinese Ching Palace Dance, Korean Drum Dance, Korean Sword Dance, Korean Fan Dance and Korean Puppet Dance.

Traditionally, red envelopes are passed out during Chinese New Year celebrations symbolizing good luck and warding off evil spirits. After the performances, red envelopes will be handed out to a group of lucky guests selected at random. Visitors can also soak in the atmosphere with friends and family and visit the recent additions to the retail array at The Americana at Brand including Kitson, the boutiques’ two-story flagship store.
