Chippewa Valley Schools Improve Response Time to Students and Parents with Objectworld Unified Communications Server
OTTAWA-(Business Wire)-February 3, 2009 - Objectworld Communications Corp. today announced that Chippewa Valley Schools has upgraded to Objectworld’s Unified Communications Server 4.2 to utilize the solution’s latest features. Unified messaging and automated notifications will now enable Chippewa to reduce IT administration costs and resources as well as improve response times to students and parents.
As one of Michigan’s fastest growing school districts, Chippewa Valley serves more than 15,000 students in grades K-12 supported by 1,700 staff members across 22 buildings requiring the latest in unified communications to meet the needs of its students, parents, faculty and IT administration. By recently upgrading to Objectworld UC Server Standard Edition 4.2, Chippewa can take advantage of some of the new key enhancements including automated out-dialing that allows the school district to deliver information to staff and parents quickly by automated out-dial, for example, during snow days.
“We were looking for a unified communications solution that could integrate with our existing digital system from AVAYA,” said Robyn Oesterle, Network System Supervisor for Chippewa Valley Schools. “We needed a low cost platform that would add features and make it easier to manage the system over all. We looked at Cisco’s UNITY product, but Objectworld and AVAYA’s solution was more cost effective, less time consuming to manage, and a better fit for our existing infrastructure.”
Chippewa also needed unified messaging that provided simple integration with Microsoft Exchange for the staff that is constantly on-the-go during the day. By choosing Objectworld, Chippewa’s staff will spend less time managing messages with the ability to check them from any location and be able to spend more time with students and parents instead.
Objectworld’s UC Server Standard Edition adds unified communications capabilities to legacy phone systems, including unified messaging, call control, point-and-click system administration using Microsoft Active Directory. The solution works with 95% of the existing North American PBX market, including AVAYA, Cisco, NEC, Nortel, Mitel and Siemens PBX systems among others.
“This is a great opportunity for Objectworld to help Chippewa’s IT team to build their learning community and provide new learning tools,” said David Levy, president and chief executive officer at Objectworld. “With Objectworld UC Server, Chippewa can integrate the PBX hardware they have, the PBX hardware that they want, and their Microsoft Windows platform, all in a single, end-to-end solution that they can manage visually from Microsoft Windows. We continue to enjoy the developing relationship with our education customers.”
