Women in Film Hosts Sundance Panel and Award Event
PISCATAWAY, N.J. & LOS ANGELES-(Business Wire)-January 29, 2009 - Women In Film, (“WIF”) the leading non-profit organization dedicated to women in the global entertainment industry, hosted its third annual panel discussion, “A New Social Consciousness in Film,” at this year's Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
“Women In Film presented what we hope will be a yearly grant to a deserving woman at the Sundance Film Festival,” said Producer/Moderator and WIF (LA) Sundance Film Festival Chair, Lucy Webb. “Tax Credits LLC and The Incentives Office helped us underwrite our grant this year and we are enormously grateful for their commitment to the independent filmmaker.”
A $5,000 film grant, sponsored by Tax Credits, LLC and The Incentives Office, was awarded by the WIF jury to female director Madeleine Olnek, for her directing work on “Countertransference,” a Sundance Shorts Program entry at the world-famous film festival.
“We are extremely proud and honored to be able to help Madeleine move forward with her film, and to be a part of the WIF Program,” says Bruce Deichl, President of Tax Credits, LLC. “We look forward to a long relationship with WIF.”
“These grants can really help the independent female filmmaker reach her artistic goals, and the result is usually a wonderful piece of art for the whole world to enjoy,” said Dama Claire, female filmmaker and Production Executive at The Incentives Office. “We feel privileged to work with WIF and we're thrilled about this year's winner, Madeleine Olnek.”
