The Minnesota AIDS Project Oscar Night Minnesota event is one of 52 official parties sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that will be held across the country on Oscar Night. The Oscar Night Minnesota celebration will be held at Chambers Hotel beginning at 6 p.m. for a red carpet arrival. Tickets are now on sale at www.mnaidsproject.org/oscar, or by calling 612-373-2411.
Guests may feel like stars themselves as they walk the red carpet upon arrival, enjoy admission to the ART Room, Burnet Gallery, Ice Bar, and Rooftop Lounge. These four elegant rooms, each with a unique ambiance, add to the experience of the evening as guests enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres prepared by the world renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. The party will have jumbo screens to view the 81st Annual Academy Awards on KSTP, the local affiliate of the ABC Television Network, which broadcasts the Academy Awards presentation.
“Oscar Night America parties give communities across the country the opportunity to both share in the excitement of Oscar Night and support worthy causes,” said Academy Executive Director Bruce Davis. “And it’s terrific that a worldwide television event can benefit so many charities on a local level.”
“Oscar Night generates excitement all over the world,” said David Knapp, special events manager for the Minnesota AIDS Project. “With the Academy’s help, our guests will feel like they are on the A-list while watching the winners from this year’s outstanding films. We have joined with DIVA Minnesota (two charities, one cause!) to put together a gala fund-raiser that promises to exceed your wildest expectations. Closed-circuit cameras will broadcast the action in our four private party rooms so that you don’t miss a moment wherever you are. We even have Lavender Magazine’s Wanda Wisdom as our emcee, providing her unique musings live from the Rock Star Suite. You will want to dress to impress as the glitterati of the Twin Cities will be in attendance. It’s without a doubt an experience not to be missed.”
