Florida’s First Salsa Dancing Theatrical Play
ORLANDO, Fla.-(Business Wire)-January 26, 2009 - Millo Aldea, Art Director of IDEAS in Orlando, Florida, producer of the first online salsa dancing reality series and creator of SalsaDynasty.com, writes and directs Florida's first salsa dancing theatrical play.
For many years, salsa dancing has received positive feedback. It is an exotic form of dance, a way to get fit, and a way to meet people. For these reasons, there is the need for a performance that captures a story of such emphasis. Millo Aldea has hired Julissa Cruz, a world known salsa performer and instructor to choreograph all the routines of the show.
MIGUE exhibits Friday, April 24th and Saturday, April 25th at the Garden Theatre, located at 160 West Plant Street, Winter Garden, FL 34787. Tickets available online at www.MigueOnStage.com.
Migue is a young man living with his mother and father. His goal in life is to become a world renowned dance instructor though both of his parents do not support him in this endeavor. Having grown up with a homophobic father, he was raised to believe that dancing is not a proper career goal for a man.
Migue’s best friend Melissa has fallen deeply in love with him and supports everything Migue wants to be. In a very difficult confrontation, Melissa finds out Migue does not love her the way she wants and is devastated by his reasons why.
After confronting his parents with the truth, Migue is no longer welcomed at the home of his parents and is forced to move out. Although hurt by his parent’s actions, he now realizes that he is no longer subject to the prejudice of his father and is now free to pursue his dream as a dancer.
Migue’s story is one of overcoming prejudice, learning to believe in himself and going on to change the lives of others.
