SAN FRANCISCO-(Business Wire)-January 20, 2009 - FireRescue1.com, a leading online resource for fire-rescue personnel, and Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment, the leading provider of fire truck and new equipment news for fire department decision makers, today announced they have formed a web site management and joint marketing partnership.

Under terms of the partnership, FireRescue1 will redesign, develop and manage the new FireApparatusMagazine.com web site, as well as help market the magazine online. In exchange, Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment will provide FireRescue1 with an archive of articles, a number of print ads and other exposure in the magazine.

FireRescue1 will lead a redesign of FireApparatusMagazine.com aimed at improving site design and navigation, while adding new content sections – many populated with relevant content from FireRescue1.com – and expanding sponsorship capabilities. Following the re-launch of FireApparatusMagazine.com, FireRescue1 will continue to manage the site in partnership with the magazine’s editorial team, ensuring regular updates and fresh content. In addition, FireRescue1 will incorporate Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment content and promotion into a number of locations across FireRescue1.com and the FireRescue1.com eNewsletters.

The new FireApparatusMagazine.com will include several enhanced features and sections, including:

  • Direct Links to Advertisers: Print advertisers running in Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment will receive direct links to the actual products appearing in their magazine ad, not just to their homepage. In addition, companies and products mentioned in the magazine will continue to be highlighted in print and indexed online, making it easy for readers to learn more about products that interest them.
  • Classifieds: A searchable directory of used fire apparatus and equipment classified ads from dealers around the country.
  • Product Research section: A wide range of product news, features and other information, straight from FireRescue1’s Product Categories.
  • “Now In Service” Section: Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment now runs more new delivery photos each month than all other fire magazines combined. These photos, including captions listing subcomponent manufacturers and major features, will be updated monthly and archived online.
  • News & Video: A new section with related news headlines, exclusive features and videos from FireRescue1 and FlashoverTV.com

The partnership also greatly expands the capabilities of Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment to provide exposure for advertisers on its web site, including several new online advertising options that will allow them to reach a carefully targeted audience of all chiefs nationwide as well as some 2,200 purchasing managers in career departments.

“FireRescue1 has quickly established itself as the leader in online content and solutions for the fire service,” said C. Peter Jørgensen, Publisher and Editor of Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment. “We are very excited to be working with FireRescue1 to improve our ability to reach the firefighting community online, as well as better connect them with the companies that provide the products they need.”

FireRescue1 will receive regular exposure in Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment, both in print ads and in other content sections. In addition, FireRescue1 will also have access to Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment’s article archive, bolstering the content within apparatus and equipment sections across FireRescue1 and benefitting FireRescue1’s members, who will now have access to more product research information.

FireRescue1 advertisers in relevant product categories – such as Apparatus, Vehicle Equipment, PPE and others – will receive additional exposure to this precisely targeted audience of fire apparatus and equipment purchasing decision makers. With the re-launch, FireRescue1 product categories will simultaneously appear on FireApparatusMagazine.com.

“Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment Magazine has built a reputation as the leading product and apparatus-focused publication for the fire service,” said Alex Ford, CEO of FireRescue1.com. “Combined with our expertise in providing product information online, this partnership enhances both organizations’ core strengths to create better resources for firefighters looking for products and a significantly broader range of marketing opportunities for our customers.”
