Contextware Releases Web Version of CDC’s Public Health Emergency Response Guide for State, Local, and Tribal Public Health Officials
ANNANDALE, Va.-(Business Wire)-January 13, 2009 - Contextware, Inc., provider of software solutions that improve organization performance and productivity, today announced the release of an all web version of the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) Emergency Response Guide. Originally released by CDC in hard copy and PDF, Contextware converted the 65 page guide it into a step-by-step, easy to navigate web version available free to registered users.
In addition to the baseline guide, Contextware developed a highly enhanced version that includes access to over 120 additional resources such as training materials, planning templates, case studies and “how-to’s.” The enhanced version available for subscription, includes a process for conducting After-Action Reviews – a process in high demand for public health officials tasked with training and responding to emergencies.
“Preparedness for all-hazards emergencies has never been more important.” stated David Austin, President of Contextware. “We’ve built something of significant value for health officials and first responders by taking the CDC’s seminal Guide on the topic and making it massively more useful to end-users and doing it for free.”
Additional details appear below, and at Contextware’s website.
Improved Navigation:
Processes developed by CDC, including the acute phase response to a public health emergency are presented in step-by-step detail. Steps are linked to relevant templates provided by the CDC.
Enhanced Content:
Building on the baseline version, our editors and industry experts have identified over 120 additional resources and tools relevant to emergency preparedness. These are available to subscribers of the enhanced version.
Organizations can configure their own version of the Guide to include their own templates, content and resources. They can also create and add other SOPs relevant to public health officials, labs, first responders and others with emergency preparedness roles.
