Gregg Seibert Appointed Executive Vice President of Cablevision Systems Corporation
BETHPAGE, N.Y.-(Business Wire)-January 12, 2009 - Cablevision Systems Corporation (NYSE:CVC) today announced that Gregg Seibert will join the company as an executive vice president of Cablevision Systems Corporation, effective later this month.
In this newly created role, Mr. Seibert, 53, will join Cablevision’s senior management team, working on the company’s overall corporate strategy as well as business development activities. In addition, Mr. Seibert will oversee Cablevision’s treasury and investor relations functions. Mr. Seibert will report directly to both Cablevision President and CEO James L. Dolan and Cablevision Vice Chairman Hank Ratner.
“Gregg has a substantial knowledge of the cable and telecommunications industries, as well as more than 20 years of experience in developing, executing and managing complex financial transactions and relationships,” said Mr. Dolan. “We are fortunate to add such a respected and experienced individual to Cablevision’s already strong executive team, which also includes Cablevision CFO Michael Huseby. Mr. Seibert has spent the last two decades at Merrill Lynch working on various financing and strategic transactions for companies across a number of industries. This includes banking activities for some of today’s top media companies such as Cablevision, Comcast, Liberty Media, News Corporation, and many others.
Most recently, Mr. Seibert served as senior vice president and vice chairman of Merrill Lynch. From 2003 to 2004, Mr. Seibert was head of Americas Corporate Banking, managing all of Merrill Lynch's investment banking activities across the United States, Latin America and Canada. Prior to this, he served as co-head of Global Corporate Finance and co-head of the Global Industries and Communications Group (GIC), which covered the consumer products, healthcare, media, technology and telecom industries. Mr. Seibert joined Merrill Lynch in 1989 as a managing director and head of the Global Media Group and was responsible for all of the company's investment banking activities in the media and related entertainment industries.
Mr. Seibert received his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
