ALEXANDRIA, Va.-(Business Wire)-January 6, 2009 - Servant Forge, a non-profit organization affiliated with Strategic Applications International is hosting an affordable and accessible Humanitarian Inaugural Ball at the Torpedo Factory at 105 Union Street Old Town Alexandria, Virginia on January 20, 2009, to celebrate the election of Barack Obama and a presidency that promises programs and policies that will transform our world and build a strong bridge of service that reflects the core values of our history, our faith, and our nation.

“The Humanitarian Ball differs from other events on inauguration night because it is affordable, accessible, and at least half of your ticket admission will help support a cause that changes lives,” said James E. Copple, Co-Founder of Servant Forge. “Our goal is to help raise money to support humanitarian programs in Africa and Alexandria, Virginia.”

The theme for the Servant Forge Humanitarian Inaugural Ball is: “An Imperfect Offering: Serving Kids from Kenya to King Street.”

“This event seeks to accent the theme that not only the rich and powerful of the Washington area can celebrate, but all citizens can celebrate and contribute something back to improve the conditions of their neighbors,” said Copple.

Proceeds from The Humanitarian Inaugural Ball will support: Space of Her Own (SOHO), Sister to Sister, and the Kenya Youth Empowerment Initiative, three very special projects that have become part of the work and lives of the founders of Servant Forge.

These projects are supported by the Art League of Alexandria, the City of Alexandria, the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Swaziland and the African Nazarene University in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Servant Forge Humanitarian Ball is a great opportunity for citizens in the Capital region to be included in this historic event in our country and to help their brothers and sisters around the world,” said Copple.

The Ball will begin at 8:00 pm and will go to midnight. Black Tie is optional. Music will be provided by the Kelly Bell Band out of Baltimore, Maryland. Food, spirits, dancing and presentations on the causes being supported will guide the program. For tickets or other information visit: www.servantforge.org
